Hi, I'm Duncan McGregor. I'm one of the owners of Cafe in the Park and it's located in the

Pensfold Centre in Gaines Park, Shrewsbury. How long have you been here, Duncan?

Just over a month now. And what was here before?

There's been various things. The most recent tenant was an electrician, Lings Electrical.

And what was the idea of turning it into a cafe?

We live locally and it's on the school runs. We drop our kids off at the Oxford School and we

thought it'd be an ideal place to open a cafe. We found out previously it's also been a cafe

many, many years ago alongside a bakery. It's got a very lovely homely feel to it.

What was the idea and inspiration behind that? We just wanted somewhere that we felt the

Gaines Park community and the wider community to come and sit, relax and just enjoy a cup of tea

and a slice of cake. What other things have you got on up here, food-wise and drink-wise?

We're pretty much doing everything now. We've got breakfasts, full English breakfasts.

We've got breakfast wraps, jacket potatoes, sandwiches, paninis and homemade cakes by the

team and my wife as well. And how has the local community adapted to you being here?

Yeah, it seems to be very well received. We've already got a number of regular customers who

come in for a breakfast or a coffee every day and we're getting a lot of positive feedback.
