Health authorities are probing a food poisoning case involving 91 pupils of SK Pulau Gaya and have told the school canteen to stop operations temporarily.

Sabah Health Department director Datuk Dr Asits Sanna said some pupils started exhibiting symptoms of food poisoning, including vomiting around noon on Monday (July 22).

00:13Sabah Health Department Director Datuk Dr Asit Sana said some 20 pupils started exhibiting
00:19food poisoning symptoms, including vomiting, around noon on Monday.
00:24He added that a check was then carried out to find out how many others were having similar symptoms.
00:29Those with symptoms were sent for treatment.
00:32Most of the students are at the second stage of the illness,
00:35while 10 per cent have been allowed to return home.
00:38Dr Asit said the cause of the suspected food poisoning was still being ascertained.
00:44He added that the school canteen operations and the supplementary food programme
00:48for underprivileged students have been suspended pending the investigation.
