00:00According to Councillor Sutdeo, the situation is bad and several homeowners are in need of assistance.
00:07I would estimate over 500 households.
00:11Over 500 households. So Councillor, what do these residents need almost immediately?
00:18Well, basically clean up efforts. I'm calling on the agency to release water.
00:27We have been three weeks out of a supply, so I'm hoping that we receive some water today to aid in those cleanup efforts.
00:35While she admits that flooding is subsiding in some areas, she tells us that other communities are not as fortunate.
00:42She is hoping that officials from the Works Ministry can assist further.
00:47Under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Works, I'm asking that the engineering departments come forward and assist us in cleaning and clearing the choke points.
01:01We are also asking that finances are released to continue with the development projects that we need to be done in the area to curb these floodwaters when they do occur.
01:19Councillor Sutdeo tells TV6 that they need assistance as soon as possible to clear the water from the routes as well.
01:27When it rains, the entire stretch from Dillmohamed Trace and the David D.R. Road Junction, Switzerland area, to Scott Road, along Pinal Rock Road, Mont Diablo Junction, it's nearly impossible.
01:43We need some immediate attention in terms of engineering and in terms of clearing those drains. The grass to the side of the road has become so thick that sometimes it's difficult for the water to run up.
