00:00The first rookies to show up to training camp in the National

00:06Football League. That was the Baltimore Ravens over the

00:10weekend. Eight more teams send their rooks to camp to really

00:13start preparations for 2024 NFL's campaign on this Tuesday.

00:19The Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears, the LA Chargers, the

00:23Kansas City Chiefs, the Miami Dolphins, the New York Giants,

00:25the New Orleans Saints, and the San Francisco 49ers. That is

00:29the group of eight. Even Patrick Mahomes woke up on this

00:33Tuesday morning and shared out a tweet. KC, let's do it. As of

00:39tomorrow, the Houston Texans not only send their rookies but

00:44their veterans as well as they will play in the first

00:47preseason game of the year on August 1st against the Chicago

00:51Bears in Canton, Ohio known as the Hall of Fame game DRS

00:56football right around the corner. Yeah, it's pretty good

00:59and also it's really like the orientation practices for the

01:02young rookies. There's a reason why they come in the camp

01:04first. It's not that they don't think they can be good football

01:06players. It's like, alright, here's how practices are going

01:08to go. So, when the veterans come here, stay out of their

01:11way. Don't get them angry. Some of you won't be here for

01:13two and three days of these practices. Let's just get you

01:16into the tempo so you can know what to anticipate. Same thing

01:19when you're going to high school with freshman football

01:21or just high school itself. You always had a freshman

01:23orientation before the actual other students came in just so

01:26you can get the lay of the land but it's good to see the

01:28rookies come in the training camp and typically with those

01:31rookies usually the starting quarterback as well no matter

01:34how pricey is does come in with the rookies to set that tone

01:37and get those practice reps under the belt before the vets

01:40come in along with them. So, football season certainly

01:42officially underway every day now. More and more teams will be

01:45headed to training camp before you know it. August 1st, we

01:48will be watching live football from a preseason game which no

01:51starters will play but it will still be football on our TV.

01:55Maybe Caleb Williams, maybe for the Chicago Bears but we shall

02:00see. Let's not forget the Hall of Fame game a couple of years

02:04ago where Joshua Daniels had Josh Jacobs in a contract year

02:08out there plowing through people on eight feet dives up

02:12the middle. It was fantastic. So, today is July 16th. Now, a

02:17very important day in the offseason calendar with nine

02:20teams officially underway in camp but yesterday, July

02:24fifteenth, also an important day. It was tag tender

02:29extension day. You couldn't come to a long-term agreement

02:32but if you wanted to rework a short or it was your time to

02:36come to a long-term agreement. If you did not, a short-term

02:39agreement needed to be worked out from this point but it was

02:43really only a focus on T Higgins because this offseason

02:47way back in early March, nine players around the NFL DRS

02:51placed under a franchise or transition tag. Eight of the

02:55nine received a new deal. Six of those eight with their

03:00current team that placed them under the tag. Both Brian Burns

03:03of the New York Giants and Legerius Need were traded and

03:07extended as we'll show you in just a moment. Joshua Hines

03:11Allen changes his last name to honor his legacy after he got a

03:16huge five-year 150 million dollar extension with the

03:20Jacksonville Jaguars. Antoine Winfield Junior, one of the

03:23highest paid safeties in the history of the NFL. His big

03:26deal with the Buccaneers. Jalen Johnson with the Bears.

03:29Michael Pittman Junior with the Colts. Justin Matabikwe with

03:32the Baltimore Ravens and Kyle Duggar under the transition tag

03:36agreeing to a new contract extension with the New England

03:39Patriots. Which is is what's supposed to happen. When you're

03:42getting a franchise tag, what's the franchise think of you here?

03:44You are one of the best players in this organization. We cannot

03:47afford to lose you. So, most of the time, that player is

03:50unhappy to get the tag. Cooler heads prevail. You meet with

03:53ownership, your agent, players alike and you say, you know

03:56what? What's gonna make us happier? We don't want you

03:58coming to camp angry and we love you. You're a great player.

04:00We want you to be in our franchise for a long time to

04:02see all of those players got extended which is why it comes

04:05to T Higgins which I I just can't fathom this. It's like

04:08when you go back to like a not even like a reunion. Let's just

04:11say you haven't seen the boys together for a year because

04:13y'all been away at college. Y'all graduated. Everybody in

04:16that room. Let's say there's five guys. Four guys got

04:18unbelievable offers to be lawyers at great law firms.

04:21You're a lawyer and then the law firm you're going is like,

04:23you know what? We're not gonna pay you. We just want you to be

04:26an intern this year. Like, I don't understand this. I'm on

04:28the same level as my boys here. I'm not getting work. So, when

04:30you look at a T Higgins, how can you go to like, hey, dap it

04:33up at a party? Hey, man, what's your contract look like? Man, I

04:36just got $75 million splash to my account. How about you? I

04:38didn't get anything yet. I'm just gonna get paid weekly this

04:40year and if I get injured, I might not get anything into the

04:43future. He's the only guy sitting out here. The CD Lamb

04:45is probably gonna get paid by the Cowboys but this T Higgins

04:48thing again is what I joked about writing a thesis on this.

04:50I can't understand number one, T Higgins accepted this and

04:53number two, his agent should be written up and have a lawsuit

04:56and expelled from actually being an agent in the NFL by

04:59the NFLPA. This is unbelievable that he's entering into the

05:04season as one of the best players and everybody around

05:06him in his position got paid but him and he's still going to

05:10play. I'm gonna lost for words by this. I am. He's going to

05:14play under the tag. It's worth about $21 million this year.

05:17It's top fifteen in the NFL in terms of salary. Hour number
