The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has called for the evacuation of all remaining residents of Gaza City, directing them to move south towards Deir al-Balah. This directive, issued on Wednesday, is part of an intensified military campaign targeting Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad fighters within the enclave. The IDF has repeatedly urged Gaza City residents to evacuate in recent days, dropping leaflets and providing specific “safe routes” for evacuation. These instructions are in response to what the IDF describes as imminent and dangerous combat operations. The military has conducted extensive operations in Gaza City’s western, southern, and eastern neighbourhoods.
