00:34waves of Ukrainian drones targeted Moscow and the surrounding Moscow region, triggering fires,
00:40damaging buildings, and striking a key oil facility. The biggest reported impact came at
00:47the Moscow oil refinery in the Kapotnia district. Videos from the area showed smoke and flames rising
00:54from the refinery complex after several drones reached the facility. The refinery is one of the
01:00major fuel suppliers for Moscow and the surrounding region, making the strike particularly significant
01:06for Russia's energy infrastructure. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said more than 1,600 drones had
01:14been intercepted across various areas since Saturday, including around 450 that were headed toward
01:20Moscow. Russia's defense ministry separately reported that 1,110 Ukrainian drones were shot
01:28down overnight across Russian regions, occupied Crimea, and the Black Sea. Those figures come
01:35from Russian authorities and cannot be independently verified in full, but the scale of the attack was
01:41evident from the damage reported across Moscow region. Russian officials said drones also struck
01:47residential areas and a logistics facility in Sofino. A residential building was damaged while hundreds
01:54of people were reportedly evacuated from another damaged apartment complex in the Moscow region. Regional
02:00authorities said two people were killed and around 20 others were injured. Several Moscow-area airports,
02:07including Sheremetyevo, Venukov, Damodevo, and Djukovsky, temporarily restricted flights,
02:14leading to widespread delays and cancellations. And then came confirmation from Kiev. Ukrainian
02:21President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukrainian long-range weapons had struck important Russian
02:26targets in the Moscow region. He said the operation hit a key facility connected to Russia's oil industry,
02:33as well as a major logistics site. Ukrainian officials also said multiple domestically produced
02:40long-range systems were used in the attack. The reported weapons included drones and missiles,
02:47with Ukrainian officials highlighting systems such as Flamingo and other long-range strike platforms.
02:53The attack is particularly significant because it came on the final day of Russia's parliamentary
02:59elections. Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanen accused Ukraine of attempting to disrupt the vote,
03:05saying the attack had been planned for that purpose. He said the attempt had failed. Ukraine,
03:12meanwhile, presented the strikes as part of its continuing campaign against Russian military,
03:18energy, and logistics infrastructure. The Khopatnya refinery has previously been targeted
03:23by Ukrainian drones, making the latest strike another blow against a facility considered important
03:29to Moscow's fuel supply. The attack also comes amid a broader escalation in long-range
