00:00But, uh, Ken Rosenthal reported over at the athletic yesterday. Uh, same sort of thing
00:20that we've been hearing about the Rangers, which is that they are yet to determine their
00:25course. He says that after sweeping Tampa Bay and winning five, their past seven, perhaps
00:28they're about to go on a long waited run, but they remain seven and a half back in
00:31the race for the third American league wildcard. And their playoff odds are having a hovering
00:35around 10%. Their front office is doing what every responsible front office does at this
00:40time of year, planning for buy and sell contingencies. Uh, he goes down a little bit. He says the
00:45difference between the Rangers and the 2014 Red Sox is that the Rangers would not necessarily
00:49limit their conversations to mostly players on expiring contracts. According to sources
00:54briefed on their thinking. They also could move players under control beyond this season
00:59and an attempt to compete again quickly in 2025. So you could potentially see them moving
01:04on from somebody who's under contract much longer than just an expiring deal like a Scherzer.
01:10So does that put into play potentially Evaldi or does it put into play other guys that maybe
01:15you're looking at saying, Hey, we've got maybe a log jam and you know, the infield or out
01:19in the outfit, let's, uh, let's look and clear things up a little bit. So some of these prospects
01:23and clear, or in order to get ready when now pieces, uh, the players on expiring contracts,
01:28he mentions Michael Lorenzen, Heaney, uh, Jose Urania, uh, David Robertson, Kirby Yates.
01:33And then he mentions Nathan of all the Max Scherzer. He said in a market short on position
01:37players, the Rangers could listen on first baseman, Nathaniel low center fielder, Laody
01:44Tavares, and perhaps even a Dulles Garcia.
01:46I would say perhaps even a Dulles Garcia, putting it that way, that one doesn't surprise
01:53me that much. So I wouldn't feel like that's a, Oh, they might even be willing to the one
01:56that in there makes me go really is if you were to say, perhaps even Nathaniel low, just
02:01because like, that's the one that's hair. He's been on a real hot, he's been on a heater.
02:06I would much rather trade a Dulles Garcia than Nathaniel. I don't have a problem with
02:11low. I mean, I think they need an upgrade at first because first base is a much more
02:14power position than what he offers could stand to use it. But I mean, you're also making
02:17up for it by having the bet, like in terms of your infield, you have the best power position
02:22hitting shortstop. And the idea of moving on from Garcia, obviously you have the age
02:26factor in 32. He doesn't, he's not aging. I don't think they think he's aging well.
