Russian artist Sasha has called south China's Hainan province home for six years. She hopes to share her impressions of Hainan and her hope to bridge cultural gap through art.

00:00Hello, I'm Sasha, I'm from Russian Federation and I'm an artist.
00:07I have been living here for six years.
00:11It's a very beautiful place and people here are kind, beautiful and very simple.
00:17The life is so slow and they can just live with nature.
00:24I love to paint nature.
00:26I also painting people.
00:28I love to paint local people.
00:30I love to show the cultural differences or some common places about our different cultures.
00:43The work of artist is about to show and try to teach people about something with the art.
00:50What I want to do is to paint the bridge between our different nationalities.
00:55Maybe from China and world, from Russia and China.
01:00To let people know that we are the same.
01:03We have many different things between each other but we are all the same.

01:15Everything changes so fast.
01:17Hainan Free Trade Port is attracting more and more people.
01:21Past few years I see more and more artists, designers, directors, photographers, musicians and architects.
01:32There are so many different activities which you can join.
01:35Different artists they want to share art, share music, share happiness of life here.
01:43For China, Hainan Free Trade Port is a window.
01:47It's a new window and I'm just happy to live here.
01:51I hope to contribute with my art into development of the Free Trade Port and also make a bridge between our two countries.
