00:00After years of watching the National Day Parade on television,
00:08thousands of Malaysians finally seized the chance to experience the festivities up close in Putrajaya on Sunday.
00:15Some were so eager they arrived as early as 7.30pm on Saturday to secure a good spot for the 68th National Day celebration.
00:24I mean the spiritual of kemerdekaan, we want to feel like what the other can feel like.
00:30Semangat patriotism dalam diri, kami nak tanam lebih lagi.
00:33And yeah, we both like watching from television.
00:37So it's been our dream since we are young like to come here and see on our own.
00:43For others, it was the parade's special attractions that drew them in.
00:47So anything you're looking forward to the most today?
00:49Canine.
00:51You?
00:52Probably a canine.

01:03Actually this year we came a bit late so we missed some parts.
01:07So next year we plan to come earlier and like watch everything from the start to the end.
01:14Beyond the colourful floats, formations and performances,
01:17many hoped the celebrations would remind Malaysians of the sacrifices that shaped the nation.
01:23My hope is that the courage to love the country, the courage of Malaysian Madani,
01:30will continue to be in the heart and also in the heart of myself, my children and all of the people of Malaysia.
01:38It was like, we felt very proud at that moment with all the music and then the, we watched everything.
01:48Like we felt very proud to be Malaysians that feel we got back.
01:52This year's celebration, themed Malaysia Madani,
01:57Rakyat di Santuni,
01:59drew over 100,000 visitors.
02:01Highlights included in the world's body.
02:02So the other people,
02:04the village and the other people,
02:06the children,
02:07the other people,
02:08we know that the world is not to be very proud of them.
02:12And we know that the people are not really proud of us.
02:16But when we are proud of them,
02:17we have to take care of ourselves.
02:19This year's celebration,
02:20themed Malaysia Madani,
02:21Rakyat di Santuni,
