PartsHnC is your trusted destination for heating and cooling parts for your HVAC systems. Hi everyone! Welcome back to our channel! Today, in this video, we’re going to show you how to clean the condenser coil of a Bard wall-mount air conditioning unit. Proper maintenance can keep your unit running efficiently and extend its lifespan. Let’s get started! First, always make sure to turn off the power to the unit before starting any maintenance. Safety first! You can do this at the breaker box. Next, we’ll remove the front panel of the Bard unit. This typically involves unscrewing a few screws. Keep these screws safe, as you’ll need them to reassemble the unit later. Here’s the condenser coil. As you can see, it’s pretty dirty. Dust and debris can accumulate over time, reducing efficiency and increasing wear and tear on the unit. We’ll start by using a soft brush to gently remove loose dirt and debris from the coil. Be careful not to damage the delicate fins. After brushing, use a vacuum with a soft brush attachment to remove the finer particles. This step helps ensure we get as much dirt off as possible. Now, we’re going to apply a coil cleaner specifically designed for condenser coils. Make sure to follow the instructions on the cleaner’s label. Spray it evenly across the coil. Allow the cleaner to sit for the recommended amount of time. This will help break down any stubborn grime and grease that may be stuck to the coil. After the cleaner has done its job, rinse the coil thoroughly with a water hose. Make sure to use gentle pressure to avoid damaging the fins. Now, look at the coil. It’s much cleaner, which will help the unit run more efficiently and keep your energy bills down. Once the coil is clean and dry, reassemble the front panel of the unit. Make sure all screws are tightly secured. Finally, turn the power back on at the breaker box. Your Bard wall mount unit is now ready to go. And that’s it! Regularly cleaning your condenser coil can help your AC unit work more efficiently and last longer
