00:00Really, I just feel terribly sad for our country, because Labour are going to be a disaster.

00:05I'm happy to talk about that.

00:07I'm very sad for the probably 1,000 parliamentary staffers who will now lose their jobs,

00:11who don't deserve to, including my own, who have diligently served the people of Wycombe.

00:16Given they're all to look after people in all kinds of ways, they don't deserve to lose their jobs.

00:21And I wish them, I'll commend them to any employer.

00:24But I'll be honest, for myself, I wanted to win this.

00:27I fought it to win. I'm incredibly proud of the campaign we had.

00:31I'm proud of my campaign manager.

00:33But for me personally, you know, thank God I'm free.

00:36It's over, and I'm glad.

01:02And, you know, enough's enough.

01:04And I would have been glad to continue and serve the people of Wycombe.

01:07It was often a joy to do my duty.

01:10But I'm going to be honest with people.

01:12Members of Parliament time and again say, what an honour.

01:14Well, it was an honour. It was an honour.

01:16But, my goodness, it's good to have it behind me, and I will not be coming back.

01:20You can have that as an exclusive.

01:22Well, I mean, that is rather a depressing way to end the interview, Steve.
