00:00People decided to start a rumour in the school that I was a devil worshipper
00:03and people used to be mildly afraid of me.
00:07So many people compare me to Wednesday Addams and I'm like no,
00:10I want to be Morticia, the goddess.
00:12Today I'm transforming from an elegant gothic look to a preppy and pink style
00:16that my sisters are definitely not going to see coming.
00:19Are you ready?
00:20Maybe.
00:20Three, two, one.
00:22Oh my god, I look like I'm gonna go and run for like congress or something.
00:28I mean, I'm really interested to see what she looks like.
00:30I think it's going to be so funny.
00:32Have you guys seen my Chanel part?
00:34Oh my god, whoa!
00:43Hi, lovely to meet you.
00:44I'm Bevan.
00:45Hi Bevan, I'm Sabrina.
00:46Nice to meet you.
00:47My name is Bevan and I would describe my style as an elegant goth.
00:52The key elements of my look are chokers, very elegant headpieces,
00:56bows and little rosary beads and very Victorian elegant style dresses.
01:01If I could summarize my look in a few words,
01:03they would be peculiar, elegant, gothic and strange.
01:09So many people compare me to Wednesday Addams and I'm like no,
01:12I want to be Morticia, the goddess.
01:15I think it's beautiful.
01:16It's a style that when I wear I feel like I'm fully being myself.
01:20Today I'm transforming from an elegant gothic look to a preppy and pink style
01:24that my sisters are definitely not going to see coming.
01:31Bevan, I'm ready for you now.
01:32So today the look that we're going to create is a really beautiful bronzed glamorous look,
01:39kind of Barbie-esque.
01:40It'll be a really beautiful look.
01:42It'll be really interesting, see if you like it.
01:44I put my trust in your hands because I think that, yeah, you'll treat me well.
01:55So growing up my style has always been gothic and alternative.
01:59As I said, it's not something that has been a phase for me.
02:02I have always dressed in skull t-shirts,
02:04loved wearing black, anything a little bit spooky and kooky.
02:07I think misunderstood girls in films have always been something I've taken inspiration from
02:11because my dad was very into Tim Burton movies.
02:14I've dressed this way my entire life.
02:20Why do you want to transform into this look?
02:22I think it's so ridiculously different from anything I've ever worn before.
02:27And also I'm very well known online for being what people call the Barbie goth
02:34because I went with my sister and dressed up pink to see the Barbie movie
02:39and it got quite viral.
02:41So I think it's rather humorous that this is me sort of taking it,
02:44I'd say, to like the next stage of like extreme commitment
02:47with a wig and makeup and all that.
02:50I decided to do this transformation
02:51because I'm someone that always loves to try something new.
02:53I'm not against pushing myself out of my comfort zone.
02:57When I hear preppy and pink, I essentially think of my middle sister.
03:01I am curious to see if I wear this style, will I end up looking like her?
03:05Obviously I think she's going to wear it better,
03:07but who knows, maybe she could have some new competition.
03:12So I'm just using a concealer in areas where I want more coverage.
03:16I want to keep the skin looking as sheer as possible.
03:19Do you get judged a lot by the way you look?
03:21I think it's inevitable I will be judged by how I look
03:24because I dress very extravagantly.
03:26I went out to a market with my friends and there were a group of boys
03:30and one of them threw a cup at my head and it like whacked off my head.
03:34You mentioned that your school didn't approve of the way you dress.
03:36Tell us about that.
03:38I was raised in Ireland where religion plays a very large role in communities.
03:43I went to a fairly religious school where things such as LGBT were like taboo.
03:48People would be like, oh my goodness, you're satanic.
03:51Some of the 17-year-olds decided to start a rumour in the school
03:54that I was a devil worshipper and people used to be mildly afraid of me,
04:00but I think I kind of played into it because I thought it was a bit humorous
04:03and there was literally people that kept images of me in their lockers
04:07because I think it meant that I wasn't going to be able to hex them.
04:14So who are you going to be revealing this look to today?
04:17I'm going to be revealing this look to both of my sisters
04:21and I think that they're going to find it pretty entertaining
04:23because they've never seen me in any style other really than alternative.
04:27If you want to go and get changed and we'll finish up.
04:30Okay.
04:37So we're all done, are you ready to see yourself?
04:40Mildly terrified now, yes, but we've come this far.
04:43Are you ready?
04:48Maybe.
04:48Three, two, one.
04:51Oh my god.
04:57I look like I'm going to go and run for like Congress or something
05:00and I don't even feel like someone my age would wear this.
05:06Maybe someone probably would.
05:13I don't know, I don't know how I feel about it.
05:29It's very interesting.
05:30I think I look older.
05:31I mean I don't, I don't hate it.
05:34Love the shoes, love the pearls, love the wig.
05:38The wig is kind of fun.
05:39What do you think your sisters will think of your makeover?
05:42I think they're going to make fun of me.
05:46I think they're going to call me Sharpay.
05:48Oh mama, yeah.
05:50I think I'd bully myself too.
05:52Oh my god.
06:00Okay, what do you think about Bevin?
06:03I mean I'm really interested to see what she looks like.
06:05I think it's going to be so funny.
06:06Have you guys seen my Chanel part?
06:08Oh my gosh, oh my god.
06:11Oh my god, Bevin.
06:14Wow, you look like me.
06:19You look gorgeous, oh my god.
06:22Have you seen my Gucci?
06:23You look so nice, beautiful.
06:28You actually like it?
06:29Yeah, no, I think you look really nice.
06:31Even this, even this frumpy, dumpy outfit?
06:35It's cute, what do you mean?
06:36That's so, I would wear that.
06:38I think you look amazing.
06:39Seriously?
06:39Yeah.
06:41You're not kidding?
06:41No, I'm not kidding.
06:42Even the frumpy granny outfit?
06:44No, it's so nice on you.
06:45It shows your figure off really well.
06:47The wig is very nice, I really like the wig.
06:49The makeup artist was good.
06:50I love it for me.
06:53I would wear this but I think for Bevin,
06:56she's unapologetically herself and very true to who she is
07:00and I respect that and I think she rocks her style
07:03and she looks amazing
07:04and she should stick with her original style
07:07because it's who she is.
07:08I'm really uncomfortable with the outfit,
07:10it just isn't...
07:11What do you mean?
07:12I'm a blonde speaking of sunshine.
07:15You are sunshine but just like maybe an eclipse.
07:19I wouldn't trade this for the way you normally dress.
07:21Kind of expected them to be very shocked.
07:24I did not expect them to like it.
07:26It was kind of nice for them to, I don't know,
07:29tell me that like with the natural makeup and stuff,
07:31I looked pretty, that was sweet.
07:34This experience has taught me that
07:36it's really important to be true to yourself.
07:38Whenever you wear what you feel right in,
07:41that's whenever you're going to be
07:42the best version of yourself.
07:43I know the outfits I wear are crazy
07:45and I know that a lot of people don't understand it
07:48but it's what makes me feel like me
07:50and it's what makes me most happy
07:51and I think it's so important
07:52that people are true to themselves in that manner.
08:06you
