00:00And the BAFTA goes to Timothy Spall.
00:07Oh dear, I say that because I know everybody, what a surprise, but I am, I thought, I didn't
00:19actually write anything down.
00:23Look all up on IMBD and you'll see who was involved.
00:34Because two, each and every soul of them, they're brilliant.
00:37They really are.
00:38I mean, Sarah Phelps' script is just magnificent and Saul Dibb is the brilliant, brilliant
00:47director.
00:48He's a skipper, a brilliant skipper, and he just brought this ship home magnificently
00:53and look, there's millions and millions of Derek Wax and Francis DePille and everybody
00:58involved on that, making it all happen.
01:02Acting's a stupid thing, it really is a stupid thing.
01:05It's a soppy old thing really, isn't it, you know, I mean, standing up, pretending to be
01:10somebody and pissing around in costumes, 67, and you think, oh my goodness me, am I still
01:19doing this?
01:21The reality is, sometimes you get a chance to play people that have had a terrible thing
01:31happen to them, and all they wanted was love, and it's a beautiful thing to be able to tell
01:39a story about something like that, and this is a story about many things, it's about terrible
01:46crimes and so on and so forth, but it's also about love, but it's also, you know, we're
01:52privileged, particularly when you're telling real stories about real lives, that people
01:56give you permission to do this, you know, and we're just storytellers, aren't we really?
02:05And when we can tell stories that are really touching and affect people and it makes a
02:10difference and we can all share in this human condition, some of it horrible and some of
02:15it beautiful and some of it both, and just, even though acting is a silly, silly, stupid
02:20thing, and the other actors in this are all bloody brilliant, they're all bloody brilliant
02:26and I am in awe of their talent, it's just lovely, I've always wanted one of these, it's
02:33just lovely to have one, so I'll shut up now because I'm just dribbling on, but I'm just
02:39so pleased to be amongst you lot, we have quite a good life really, don't we? Thank
02:45you very much.
