00:31The Ride for Their Lives, Bike for Clean Air, and a Healthier Future
00:36is part of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Clean Air Act of the Philippines.
00:42The first group of bikers will cycle from the Department of Health Central Office in Manila
00:48to the Lung Center of the Philippines at Quezon City.
00:52While the second group of bikers will cycle from the Lung Center of the Philippines at Quezon City
00:57to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in Quezon City
01:01to submit their Statement of Commitment.
01:04Their campaign is based on updating the National Air Quality Guidelines Values
01:09in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization.
01:13Investing and improving the air quality monitoring system,
01:17strengthening transparency, and providing accessible real-time information to the public.
01:23Implementing active transportation solutions such as cycling,
01:28walking to improve and reduce air pollution.
01:33Also, the recognition of air pollution and climate change as a global challenge
01:38that requires a unified solution.
01:41An estimated 80% of air pollution in the Philippines comes from the transportation sector.
