Kevin Costner says he's not dating Jewel -- even though we have photos and sources telling us otherwise.

00:03I don't want anything to do with any relationships whatsoever.

00:05But remember, we broke the story that Kevin and Jewel

00:09got a little cozy down in the Caribbean.

00:12They were in Richard Branson's island

00:15for a charity tennis tournament.

00:18And pictures of Kevin and Jewel, they

00:23had flown over there together.

00:24They left together.

00:26And by the way, people who were there

00:29were telling us they were kind of all over each other.

00:32Right.

00:33So Kevin Costner has not spoken about their relationship.

00:36But he did when he went on Howard Stern.

00:39And I was really surprised at the way

00:42he described their relationship.

00:44Here's what he's saying, and then we'll get into this.

00:51But I heard rumors.

00:53I know, that's what they are.

00:56But I like the idea of that.

01:19And so we have a friendship.

01:21We don't have a romance.

01:22And we've not dated.

01:25She's beautiful and smart enough for all those things.

01:29It just has never happened for us.

01:32The key is, he said, we have never had a romance.

01:35He also said, I would like for it to happen.

01:37So if you would like for it to happen, why hasn't it happened?

01:45said that they are really close friends.

01:47It seems like if they, well, maybe she doesn't.

01:49Maybe she's not interested.

01:51There's a little bit of what he's saying.

02:11were describing it, this was not in question whether or not

02:23I mean, he said it's never been romantic.

02:27So I don't know.

02:28I mean, as long as they have the same story,

02:31as long as they're telling the same story, then that's fine.

02:36and he may be a little gun shy about getting

02:38into another serious relationship very quickly.
