The Mexican weather service announced that intense rains were expected overnight into Wednesday (June 19) in coastal areas including the Yucatan Peninsula, Tabasco and Chiapas, as the nation braces for the Potential Tropical Cyclone One.

00:16The weather service said on Tuesday that very strong to torrential rain is expected in several
00:22parts of the country, including Nuevo León and Tamaulipas in the northeast, Oaxaca in
00:28the south, and Campeche and Yucatan in the east.
00:32The rains, which will be accompanied by electrical discharges, strong gusts of wind and hail,
00:39could generate landslides and increase in the levels of rivers and streams, as well
00:44as overflowing and flooding in low-lying areas in the affected states.
00:51The potential tropical cyclone Juan is expected to approach the coasts of Veracruz and Tamaulipas
00:57on Wednesday as it heads northeast.
