Switzerland Peace Summit: Zelenskyy could present peace plan to Russia

Ukrainian President Zelenskyy said he would first ensure approval of peace deal from the dozens of leaders attending the peace summit in Switzerland.

00:00On the first day of the peace summit for Ukraine held in Switzerland, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky

00:05assured that he will eventually propose a peace plan to Russia after it is approved by the international community.

00:11The Ukrainian leader insisted that he will eventually negotiate with Russian President Vladimir Putin,

00:17but only after having gained consensus with the rest of the nations attending the summit on three different points,

00:23that's nuclear safety, humanitarian assistance and global food security.

00:28Dozens of world leaders have gathered in this luxury resort to think about the first steps of a peace process in Ukraine.

00:35However, the event has drawn criticism, saying Russia needs to be directly involved in order for the fighting to stop.

00:42And this was echoed in some of the speeches of the world leaders on Saturday evening,

00:46like, for example, when the Kenyan president said that Russia must be on the table.
