00:00Taylor Swift fans at the recent Heiress Tour shows in Edinburgh created seismic activity
00:05three nights in a row.
00:07It's not so often there's a celebrity that reaches literal earth-shaking popularity,
00:11but Taylor Swift has proven, for the second time now, that she's reached that level.
00:17The Heiress Tour is arguably one of Swift's greatest pop culture achievements to date.
00:22With tens of thousands of fans packed into different venues each night, a culture of
00:26its own forms wherever Swift performs.
00:29Fans exchange handmade friendship bracelets at concerts, inspired by lyrics from Swift's
00:33song, You're On Your Own Kid, which read, So make the friendship bracelets, take the
00:37moment and taste it.
00:39But a new tradition at Heiress Tour shows may now include fans trying to create their
00:43very own Swift Quakes.
00:46At two Seattle Heiress Tour concerts back in July of 2023, reactions from Swift's
00:51audience caused seismic activity equivalent to a 2.3 earthquake.
00:56And now we're seeing history repeat itself, as the British Geological Survey shared on
01:00X that Swift's three Heiress Tour concerts in Edinburgh generated up to 80 kilowatts
01:05of energy, which is the equivalent of up to 16 car batteries.
01:10As for the songs that caused the most seismic activity, Ready For It, Cruel Summer, and
01:14Champagne Problems were the top three.
