00:17Mohamed Zain condemned the leak, stating that it could disrupt the ongoing trial proceedings.
00:23He emphasized that all information concerning the Zain Rayyan investigation must come from
00:29official authorities.
00:31He said police will identify and track down those responsible for spreading the leaked
00:35case details, noting that the leak does not aid the prosecution or the families involved.
00:42Commissioner Mohamed Shuhaili also mentioned seeking assistance from the Malaysian Communications
00:47and Multimedia Commission, MCMC, to remove the social media postings.
00:53In response to defence lawyer Fahmy Abdul Moin's claim that the investigation under
00:57Section 302 of the Penal Code for Murder was still ongoing until the real culprit was
01:03detained, Commissioner Mohamed Shuhaili clarified that the investigation had been completed
01:09with the prosecution of Zain Rayyan's parents on Thursday.
01:13However, he added that the police would investigate further if new revelations emerge during the
01:18trial proceedings and the Deputy Public Prosecutor instructs them to do so.
01:23On May 31, Zain Rayyan's parents were arrested in Poonchak Alam at about 11 a.m. and held
01:29under remand to assist the police investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for Murder.
01:36Zain Rayyan was reported missing in Damansara Damai on December 5 last year, and his body
01:41was found near a stream about 200 metres from his home at the Idaman apartment the next
01:46day.
01:47A post-mortem revealed injuries to his neck and body, concluding that he had been killed.
01:52Police forensic teams thoroughly combed the location where the body was found and the
01:56surrounding areas in Damansara Damai during the investigation.
