There was a respectful ringing out of the bells at St Chads Church in Shrewsbury to mark D Day . We joined them in the bell tower.

00:02And John, just fill us in on where we are and what's happening this evening here?
00:06We're in St Chad's Church in Shrewsbury and we're ringing out for peace on the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
00:16Fantastic, and you'll be ringing about how long?
00:18We'll be ringing for about half an hour on eight bells.
00:22And that's a workout I should imagine, isn't it, half an hour?
00:25It is indeed, but it's fun, that's the most important thing.
00:29I guess you're plugging yourself into Shrewsbury's own town history here, aren't you, being at these events?
00:35These bells are historic bells, part of an historic event, and we always ring them for historic events in the town.
00:43Fantastic.
