Xi Jinping's China Wants To 'Delete' America After Nvidia, But Are Biden Administration's Policies Waking Up A 'Sleeping Lion'?

China’s Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation is increasing its chip production using domestic tools at its new Jingcheng facility in Beijing. This move aims to counteract U.S. export restrictions and reduce reliance on American technology. The project is part of a broader campaign led by Xi Jinping, known as “Delete A” or “Decouple From A,” to eliminate dependence on American technology. U.S. export curbs have spurred rapid development in China's domestic semiconductor industry, resulting in increased spending and some breakthroughs. Konrad Kwang-Leei Young, a former TSMC executive and SMIC board member, suggested that restrictions could awaken a "sleeping lion."
