00:00Hello OG! I'm Kaila Zinica Salas and this is my husband Robbie and we're here to give you a tour
00:05for our newly renovated content creation house.
00:14So before we go inside, let me show you the exterior of the house.
00:17So here before, there's a fence here and a small gate but we removed it
00:22so that it can become a parking space so we can accommodate more guests.
00:26So here naman, this is the common area. Our original plan was to put a mini garden here
00:32pero hindi pa tapos so for now, ito muna siya. It means it's for shoots, for extra background.
00:42So when we saw the house, it was actually old and deteriorated na but then the structure is
00:48very workable and since our family is familiar with the ins and outs of renovating, it came to
00:55us na oh this old house has the potential to be a photography studio. So let's go inside.
01:07So we're here now inside the house. You'll see first is the dining area.
01:12This table, you can use it for any food photography content,
01:15table setup content. We also have a textured wall here that you can use as a background.
01:21I was actually inspired by the interior that I see on Pinterest, on Instagram. I wanted an area na
01:32you won't find anywhere else in the Philippines. Parang oh when I'm here, parang oh wala akong sa
01:37Pilipinas. Parang something different, something fresh from the ice, something unique.
01:43So in this area, we have a fully functioning kitchen area. We have a stove, we have a kitchen
01:49sink. So if you want to showcase your food contents or maybe kitchenwares, this is the perfect area for you.
01:58We got the house January this year and plan sana namin eh, three to four months lang ang
02:04renovation but then of course, medyo nahirapan kami sa manpower kasi pandemik,
02:09medyo nahirapan kami sa manpower kasi pandemik, so not everyone can go here. Not all the time
02:17kumpleto yung tao namin. We've had problems with the deliveries of the materials.
02:22So yeah, na-pushed back siya to June and July. Mostly for the interior, who conceptualized the
02:29design, is my wife. She handled most of the designs but for the application or the construction
02:37of everything, that's mostly what I did.
02:44So what I love about this house is every wall or every corner is Instagrammable. For example,
02:49this big art door with the curtain detail that you can actually use as a background.
02:55Now let me show you the main living area. So this is the main living area. As you can see,
02:59it's very bare. So you have the creative freedom to dress it up however you like it.
03:04For example, this white wall and this high ceiling concrete wall. So my favorite area
03:10actually is the concrete high ceiling wall. We also have custom-made curtains for you to use
03:16if you want a more feminine background. So here naman, we have a full body mirror. So if you like
03:22taking mirror selfies like me, this is the perfect area for you. We also have some cute
03:27sofas here for you to lounge in or maybe take some OOTDs.
03:31Most of the materials that we used are the hardyflex. That's what we use for the division
03:36of walls and the doors. We also use a lot of skim coats. That's what we use for the walls
03:41to create the cement finish effect and also lime wash paint. That's what we use for the
03:48bedrooms to create this Mediterranean vibe for the room.
03:53So in this area, we have the basement where you can find the makeup room or the VIP room
03:57and the common restroom.
04:01Now we're done with the first floor, let me show you the second floor.
04:05So here's the second floor. We have two themed rooms and let me show you the first room.
04:10Every room has its own personality. For example, this Mediterranean themed room.
04:15I was actually inspired by this room when I saw it for the first time.
04:20I was actually inspired by the Moroccan interior, so we used the lime wash paint here,
04:26incorporated some curved detail designs, and of course, this full body mirror.
04:34When we saw the final look of the house, we were actually surprised because if you've
04:40seen the old photos, it's like it can't be used anymore. It can't be revived anymore.
04:46When we saw it, we were like, oh, it's like a new house. Is this new or something?
04:54So this is the original structure of the house. So connecting the two rooms,
04:58we have a bathroom area here. Before, it had a bathtub here that I didn't find very useful,
05:06so we changed it to an open bathroom area. And of course, you have this area for you to
05:12shoot your skincare content or maybe like product shoots. We have some neutral color
05:17decors here, like the tiles, the sink, to complete the whole Mediterranean look.
05:25Since my husband's family is in the construction business,
05:29we save more on renovations, professional fees, and materials. They have hardware,
05:36so we get the materials mostly at cost, so less than 1 million for the renovation.
05:44And then my father-in-law is in the construction business, so he oversees the whole operation,
05:52the whole renovation. So here we have the French art deco room. We have this area for you to do
06:02some flatlays or maybe like product shoots. So to show you the highlight of this room,
06:08we have a cute sofa here, the Greek post, and of course, the wall molding to give an extra texture
06:13for this room. And of course, as a content creator, a full-body mirror is a must, so
06:18every room has its own that you can use. Better if you have a professional team to
06:27renovate your house, because if you can just get people easily, you might not be able to achieve
06:34what you want. It's better to have a professional team, at least they have an idea on how to make
06:38this an easier and cheaper way. Second, always plan your budget. Always double-check your budget.
06:46Make sure that you don't go above or over your budget, because sometimes you'll be surprised
06:52that it's expensive, but it's not included in the cost. So make sure that you plan everything,
06:57especially in terms of costing. And lastly, make sure that the materials that you use are of
07:04quality. There's always an alternative that's cheaper. But the problem with that is,
07:09sometimes the cheaper ones and the materials that are cheaper, they get damaged faster.
07:14Especially, especially at home, you have to make sure that everything that you're going to use is
07:20long-lasting. Those are the things that I think are the most important when renovating a house.
07:31We just retained the original structure of the house. For example, the stairs, but we added a few
07:36details. So for example, this railing, I personally designed it to incorporate
07:40the art details of this house. For the undue house, we have the main studio,
07:47the kitchen dining studio, the bedroom studio, and the VIP studio. The lot size is 260 square meters,
07:55and the floor area is 200 square meters. For those who want to rent out the studio, they may contact
08:02us on Instagram at Undue House. All right, that ends our tour. Hope you got inspired by our story,
