“The best feeling in the world”, BAOS youth present Les Miserables: School Edition

Les miserables school edition is one of the worlds most popular musicals, boasting iconic songs such as On My Own, I dreamed a Dream and One Day More to name a few.

00:00Baos Youth is a life changer I think for everyone who joins, it's been absolutely incredible,

00:06I think it's a safe place for people to go to.

00:09Les Miserables is a musical adaptation of Victor Hugo's 1862 novel and has become an

00:14international success and this May Bristol Amateur Operatic Society youth are becoming

00:21part of the show's rich history yet again by performing the school edition of this iconic

00:26show.

00:27With one rehearsal more to go, let's find out from Baos Youth team what this experience

00:32has meant to them.

00:34It's been very good, it's come together so nicely, everyone's incredible and we all just

00:40click and the songs just get better each time we do them and all of our big numbers are

00:46just so fun to do together.

00:48Rehearsals have been amazing, so I came into a project a little bit later as a creative

00:51assistant and to be honest the kids are incredible, they literally, we tell them to do something

00:56and they do it.

00:57At first it felt really weird because I was like oh I used to be one of them but I then

01:01know I know how it is to be in their shoes and basically go through this whole process

01:06so when, if they've got any questions they know they can come to me, I've been through

01:10it but I love it.

01:23everyone wants to know is, what song is the best?

01:26My favourite number is probably, for me it's One Day More because everybody comes together

01:34and sings and the noises we make are beautiful and the harmonies are stunning.

01:38Oh no, oh okay a bit of a fail, I have to go Master of the House because it's just such

01:42a fun one.

01:44My favourite number is probably Master of the House and Stars which is my song but it's

01:49just incredible, the numbers in it, it's a very difficult question.

01:52It's very exciting, it's just the most exciting feeling ever when you get into the theatre

01:57and everyone's all excited, it's the best feeling in the world.
