00:00 This morning, the Cabinet has agreed to implement a subsidy for fuel.
00:10 The subsidy will be implemented on diesel fuel.
00:21 We are discussing the next steps.
00:26 Based on our experience, we will implement a subsidy for diesel fuel.
00:33 This will involve the users in Malaysia and not the Sabah and Sarawak users.
00:41 What is the difference?
00:42 Sabah and Sarawak users use diesel fuel, almost every family uses diesel fuel for their vehicles.
00:48 So we are postponing any action because it will burden the people the most.
00:54 But in the South East, to boost the price of goods and services,
01:00 the Government will provide a diesel subsidy to the businesses that use commercial vehicles,
01:09 motorized diesel,
01:11 involving 10 types of public transport vehicles and 23 types of goods transport vehicles
01:18 under the subsidized diesel control system.
01:22 This means that bus, taxi and fishing businesses will be kept under the subsidy to help them.
01:40 So the Government has agreed to provide fuel assistance to the owners of diesel vehicles
01:46 that are eligible, aside from the ones I mentioned earlier, to small farmers, farmers and small businesses.
01:53 This means that for B40, M40, those who use diesel fuel for small businesses or forced use in agriculture,
02:06 mining, or farming and fishing, will be helped.
02:11 This means that they will not be affected by this subsidy.
02:14 Those who do not benefit from the subsidized diesel subsidy are the T20,
02:22 meaning the richest group above and 38 million foreigners.
02:29 So, we should implement the subsidized diesel subsidy,
02:36 which will be a total of RM4 billion a year.
02:42 The RM4 billion will be used by the richest group and the 38 million foreigners.
02:51 I would like to emphasize here,
02:54 some people say that we should increase the subsidy,
02:59 but it is not for the people.
03:01 We should increase the subsidy only for the rich and foreigners.
03:07 If there are people who are burdened by diesel,
03:11 there is room for them to refer to the Ministry of Transport and related ministries
03:19 so that the subsidy for diesel fuel can be ensured that it only affects the rich and foreigners and does not burden them.
03:34 Of course, I expect that some parties will be excited about this issue.
03:40 And I, God willing, with my friends, the Ministerial Committee, will answer.
03:47 Because I give the statement that a single subsidy requirement does not have to burden the people the most.
03:56 If asked why it is necessary,
03:59 because we are not able to subsidize the rich and foreigners.
04:06 If there are parties who choose to continue this basis that enriches the rich and foreigners,
04:16 please tell the people, let the people choose.
04:20 Either to choose the basis to give RM4 billion of funds that were saved directly to the people,
04:30 or they give it to the rich and foreigners.
04:35 Thank you.
04:36 [END]
