Whitby cafe and winter wedding venue Hetty & Betty wins national award for customer service

Whitby cafe Hetty & Betty’s unique approach to its loyal customers has earned it a top accolade.The business, which serves Whitby Fish and Chips Afternoon Tea on a tiered cake stand and hosts quirky weddings in its refurbished ballroom, won the At Your Service category at the national final of The Small Awards - taking home the award for outstanding customer service. Built on the site of Whitby's old Temperance Hall, it was formerly Mills Cafe, which opened in 1928 and claims to be 'Whitby's oldest fish and chips serving cafe'.

00:14 The cafe has been here since 1928 and when we took it over in 2018 it sadly gone through

00:19 a stage of decline so it was a forgotten about place. When we took it over we were determined

00:25 to put it back on the map and so we have created a beautiful place for weddings, functions,

00:31 intimate celebrations. Downstairs we are also in our restaurant and we are famous for the

00:37 Whitby Fish and Chips afternoon tea.
