00:00The Indonesian Education, Culture, Research and Technology Ministry celebrated the National Education Day
00:07by conducting a community gathering at the 2024 KIP Kuliah National Meeting in Central Jakarta on May the 2nd.
00:14Hundreds of participants coming from various teachers' communities attended the event,
00:20along with students who received the KIP Kuliah Financial Aid Program.
00:25They shared their ideas and experiences related to education with the Education,
00:29Culture, Research and Technology Minister, Nady Makarim.
00:32The Minister said that the KIP Kuliah Program has proven to help many students in need to obtain their degrees.
00:39KIPK is the most fair.
00:43So even if the budget goes up and down,
00:46for those who really need it, KIPK is the best solution
00:51because it really provides the government's assistance to those in need.
00:56And we will continue to monitor and evaluate to make sure that only those in need get the KIP.
01:04Of course, there are various reports that I have received.
01:06We keep checking to make sure that the KIP is only given to those in need.
01:14Meanwhile, recipients who have been proven to afford their living expenses
01:18must step back from the financial aid program to allow other students to receive the assistance.
01:24Some of my friends' parents were able to make ends meet,
01:29but they didn't get the chance to receive the KIP because of one reason or another.
01:34So I think for those of you who have been able to afford your living expenses,
01:40to pay for your studies,
01:41maybe you should withdraw from the KIP Kuliah.
01:44We are giving this opportunity to those who need it more than we do.
01:49Social media has recently been buzzing about a Diponegoro University student,
01:53Cantika Mutiara Johani in Central Java,
01:56who claimed that she should not be eligible for the financial aid
02:00due to what appeared to be luxurious items she posted on social media.
02:04Many poured their anger on the student and urged her to withdraw herself from the KIP Kuliah program
02:10while in fact, Cantika received endorsement as a social media influencer.
02:40The KIP Kuliah program is one of the government's financial assistance programs
03:10for school students coming from low-income families to pursue their college degree
03:14that covers not only their tuition fees but also living expenses.
03:19This year, the program will open 200 quotas for the students to receive KIP Kuliah financial aid.
