French chefs rustle up gourmet treats for athletes at Paris Olympics

Daily specials will be accompanied by a wide range of salads, pastas and soups. Cheeses will include top quality camembert, brie and sheep’s milk-based Ossau-Iraty from southwestern France.

00:00Athletes and visitors to the 2024 Paris Olympics are in for a treat above and beyond the sporting

00:09That's because the food on offer is also a gold medal standard with gourmet dishes prepared

00:15by some of France's best chefs.

00:1840,000 meals are expected to be served each day to the more than 15,000 athletes at the

00:24Olympic Village.

00:25It is a rich variety, a huge amount of receipts that will be plant-based, that will be made

00:33available for the general public to try, to experience, and hopefully, fingers crossed,

00:38actually we are quite convinced about this, they will love it.

00:42French food services company Sodexo Live said it's created a total of 500 recipes which

00:48will be offered at a sit-down eatery for up to 3,500 athletes.

00:54Competitors will also have access to grab-and-go food stands, including one dedicated exclusively

01:00to French cuisine.

01:01I wanted to do recipes which are both very rich, very gourmand, you know, very mouth-rattling,

01:10and in the meantime, quite easy to understand, so I think the croissant is quite the symbol

01:14of Paris, and it was quite obvious for me to do a croissant that I could twist.

01:20The 2024 Paris Olympics runs from July 26 to August 11 and promises to be a treat for

01:27both sports fans and foodies alike.
