'Bloodsicles', baths keep Philippine zoo animals cool as heatwave hits

A Philippine zoo is giving tigers frozen treats made of animal blood and preventing lions from mating during the hottest time of the day as a heatwave scorches the country.

Once in a while, at least three times a day, we wet the whole enclosure.

And by doing that, we, at least in our own way, we can lessen the temperature inside the exhibit areas.

And apart from that, we give them their enrichments, their refreshments, the bloodsicles,

which is made out of blood, water, vitamins, and the meat of choice that they actually like.

During this heat, they can't have that comfortable temperature to sleep,

so they're just playing with ice or they're just panting the whole time.
