Columbia Protestors Occupy Iconic Hamilton Hall, Site of 1968 Anti-War Protests

Columbia University students, led by Columbia Students for Justice in Palestine, have occupied Hamilton Hall, a significant campus building that was also occupied during the 1968 student protests. The occupation began early Tuesday morning, with protesters moving from a West Lawn encampment to Hamilton Hall, one of the main academic buildings for undergraduates. Many protesters rallied in front of the building, chanting for justice. The occupation follows the university's announcement that it had begun suspending students who refused to leave the encampment before a Monday deadline set by the administration.
