00:00 As part of the preparations for the 2024 Paris Olympics,

00:04 a Filipino will be going to France to volunteer for the upcoming tournament.

00:10 This is what Bernadette Pinoy reported.

00:12 Three months before the 2024 Paris Olympics,

00:19 not only athletes are preparing for the tournament,

00:22 but also sports enthusiasts will serve as volunteers in the competition.

00:27 Filipinos will not be left behind because Filipino Olympic volunteers

00:31 will be sent to France to participate in the competition.

00:36 It was a rigorous way of selection because 112 volunteers were recommended by the PSC.

00:43 And then we ended up having 9 volunteers to be sent to the Olympics.

00:47 This is an 8-month volunteering stint.

00:50 So they will be rendering volunteering missions in the different organizations in France.

00:55 One of the volunteers is John Vincent Balawin,

00:59 who is taking into account the importance of volunteering in the prestigious Olympics.

01:04 We are not like the athletes, but as volunteers,

01:07 it would really be a good way to promote that even if it's just a simple volunteer,

01:13 we are really showcasing what it is to become a Filipino, how we serve.

01:16 The France Volunteers Philippines is also proud

01:20 to have two para-athletes, Jane Omega and Bryl Arumbo, as their send-off.

01:27 We have a disability, but we can do more.

01:30 We can contribute to the world.

01:32 And it's a great privilege to see the PWD serving able-bodied athletes.

01:40 It's a big impact.

01:43 In May, the Philippine sports volunteers are expected to deploy

01:47 as part of the preparations for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
