At least two people are dead and six others injured in a shooting at a block party in Memphis, Tennessee, on Saturday (April 20), according to police. 00:10 MPD officers responded to the 2400 block of Carnes Avenue regarding a shooting.

00:20 Officers located five victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds on the scene.

00:26 Three of whom were transported to area hospitals in critical condition,

00:31 and two males were pronounced deceased on the scene.

00:34 This was a block party in the Orange Mound Park that was occurring,

00:40 as far as we know, without a permit.

00:42 There were approximately 200 to 300 people in attendance at this event.

00:50 In light of recent events, we stand together to denounce

00:56 the senseless acts of violence in our community.
