Sheffield Tigers get their 2024 Owlerton speedway fixtures up and running with a win in their first home meeting of the season against King's Lynn
Transcript
00:00 It may be a few weeks later than originally planned, but Sheffield finally got their home
00:05 meetings underway at Owlerton this evening, and it was a winning start to their home speedway
00:11 meetings against the Kingsland side that Tigers have yet to lose to since returning to the
00:17 Premiership. This time, Tigers had won by the end of Heat 11. Tigers won the meeting
00:26 58-32 in the end, with Jack Holder finishing with a paid maximum from four rides. There
00:34 were moments of great drama, not least when Vadim Tarasenko, the Kingsland rider, appeared
00:41 to break down in front of Tigers skipper Kyle Howarth, just when Howarth was appearing to
00:47 be in the process of overtaking him. It left Kyle with nowhere to go and caused a crash.
00:55 Tarasenko was excluded and the race was awarded as the riders stood at that point. There was
01:06 also a dramatic last lap overtake in Heat 9 as Josh Pickering passed Tobias Muselac
01:15 on the third bend to win the Heat. In terms of the actual individual scores this evening,
01:26 the scores were Jack Holder 10 points and 2 bonus points, Kyle Howarth 5, Chris Holder
01:34 12, Josh Pickering 8+1, Ty Wattenden 12, Jason Edwards 4+1 and Dan Jilks 7+2. That was for
01:49 the Tigers. And for Kingsland, Tobias Muselac returning to Owlton for the first time since
01:55 his move to Kingsland finished with 12 and 1, Michael Palmtoft finished with 2+1, Tom
02:06 Brennan guesting for Benjamin Basso was on 9, Patrick Wojdylo was on 2 and Anders Rowe
02:15 finished on 7.
