Part 2 of 3 of the the Ruth Rendell mystery. In this episode, newly married Alice Fielding is concerned when her best friend Nesta disappears soon after she returns from her honeymoon. She decides to investigate Nesta's sudden disappearance, much to her new husband's irritation, and traces her mail to a seedy hotel. Told that Nesta has gone and that a "Mr Drage" has taken her belongings, Alice becomes more and more convinced that something terrible has happened. Then Alice begins to fall ill...

Starring Eleanor David, Peter Egan, Leslie Phillips, Mark Frankel, Leonard Preston, Joanna Kanska, Melanie Kilburn, Rebecca Lacey, David Hargreaves and Arthur White. This was one of a number of mysteries shown during the mid 1990's under the heading The Ruth Rendell Mysteries. While many of those offerings ranged greatly in quality, this proved one of their best efforts.
