Trichuris trichiura, or the whipworm derives its name from its whiplike shape; the adult can be up to 50 mm in length. It buries its thin, threadlike anterior half into the intestinal wall and feeds on tissue secretion.
Found during a rountine colonoscopy on a 60 year old male in Brooklyn New York 11204
