Rebecca MacBain discusses the prizes she has won

A mum, who enters competitions for a living, has won over £35k worth of prizes including cash, gift cards, holidays and tailored suits.

00:14 and I've been doing it for seven years. I started doing it when I was pregnant with

00:20 my little boy and I started to realise how much stuff a baby needed and I remember just

00:25 feeling really overwhelmed and I thought, "You know what, let's try and enter a few

00:30 competitions and see if we can win something." And two weeks later I won my first prize which

00:34 was a hamper full of baby products and I was just like, "Brilliant, right, I like this

00:39 hobby, I'm going to keep on doing it." This is probably one of my favourite prizes, it's

00:43 a KitchenAid mixer and all I needed to do to win this was to buy a packet of stork margarine

00:50 and take a picture of my receipt and enter an online form and I was one of the weekly

00:54 winners for the KitchenAid mixers so I was really pleased with that. I've actually won

00:58 four holidays. We've had a trip to Poland, a trip to Milan, the Isle of Man and a spa

01:04 break in the Cotswolds and these are all wonderful experiences that I just wouldn't have been

01:09 able to go on usually without comping. So the buzz of winning for me is always the same,

01:13 whether it's a small prize or a larger prize and I try and enter competitions that I think

01:18 my family will really value but I lost my mum a few years ago from breast cancer and

01:24 it really, I found her death quite traumatic and I think just having something that I can

01:29 do in the evening when the children are asleep to take my mind off things, as cheesy as it

01:35 sounds it's probably saved my life a few times, it just keeps you busy, it keeps you going

01:41 and the thought of winning a lovely prize as well makes you excited. Anybody can win,

01:47 anybody can do this hobby and yeah, that's why I love it.
