00:20 The Canberra Airport Open Day is held every two years.
00:23 It's just a great opportunity for the Canberra community and the region to come to Canberra Airport
00:29 to take a look at aviation and also just have a bit of a feel for what we do here.
00:34 It's one of those things that people just love to come and see.
00:39 We initially issued 20,000 free tickets.
00:44 You need to have a ticket to get here, so jump online, search up Canberra Open Day,
00:50 and you'll go to the ticket site.
00:53 But we released 20,000, they went very quickly.
00:57 We released another 10,000, they've gone very quickly, so we've got another 10,000 available.
01:03 Currently we're at about 35,000 tickets, so a great event and really well supported.

01:15 We have the Open Day and we have planes on the ground that people can go and take a look at.
01:20 We have aerial displays as well, but the airport keeps operating as well.
01:25 So there'll be regular passenger planes taking off and landing throughout the day at the same time.
01:31 I learned to fly solo when I was 16 years old.
01:37 My first experience doing aerobatics in an airplane was when I was 4 years old with my father.
01:43 He threw me and my brother in the back seat of an airplane with the one harness, did a loop and a roll,
01:48 and I was hooked ever since. I thought it was the best thing in the world.
01:51 Since then I've just been concentrating on aerobatic flying.
01:55 I've been flying competition aerobatics for over 10 years.
01:59 I've teamed up with the world's permitted air shows to do air shows around the country
02:03 and I'm currently the Australian aerobatic champion, so that's a nice tick of the box.
02:08 We're going to put on a great show of aerobatic flying, so expect to see these two aircraft
02:12 doing manoeuvres that people think aren't possible with aeroplanes.
02:17 Plus what we do on a formation exo, a very tight formation, only 1-2 metres apart,
02:22 it looks more graceful aerobatics.
02:25 Straight at me, big smile, man one more, and one more please.
