Children with SEND have been joined by their parents and siblings for a fun filled day of sports and activities.

00:14 Okay, if you could just tell me what today is all about please and some of the activities that children can do.
00:19 Today is a fully accessible fun day for children with special educational needs and their family so that the whole family can have a fun day out together totally free.
00:32 And what sort of activities can the kids do?
00:35 Table cricket, dancing, have a look at the fire brigade, face painting, we've got animals, we've got foundation of light, Durham Cricket Club, gateway wheelers.
00:47 Storyteller, puppets, circus skills, therapy dog, dance session.
00:55 And also the parents can find out a lot of information about services in Sunderland while they're here as well.
01:02 And a good response from people so far?
01:04 So far seems to be, yeah.

01:26 Okay, then Nick how have you found the event so far?
01:29 Oh it's been brilliant, it's just been really nice to be able to get the kids out during the holidays because we've got like two whole weeks to fill.
01:36 And somewhere like this you can bring them, they're entertained, it doesn't cost anything and I mean my kids actually have additional needs but whether you do or you don't there's something here for everyone, it's absolutely brilliant.
