00:00 Hello there, welcome to your latest broadcast from the Met Office. There is some sunshine
00:04 around this Easter day, particularly across the north of the UK, but low pressure generally
00:10 dominating and it will become more evident over the next few days as areas of rain, showery
00:14 rain, some heavy at times pushes through and perhaps some stronger winds later on in the
00:19 week as further low pressure systems cross the country.
00:23 But for the rest of Sunday, plenty of sunshine across Scotland, though we will see some low
00:28 cloud affecting the east coast at times. Sunny spells Northern England, Northern Ireland
00:32 too after some morning rain. Cloudier skies though for the rest of England, Wales into
00:37 the Midlands though, central southern parts seeing some brighter skies develop as we move
00:42 through into the afternoon. The cloud thick enough for some light rain and drizzle and
00:46 then in the sunshine we could just see one or two heavier showers triggered, perhaps
00:50 the odd thunderstorm too. In terms of temperatures, well in the best of the sunshine, 14 to 16
00:56 Celsius across the north west of Scotland. Under the cloud, 11, 12 Celsius and again
01:02 any brighter spells not feeling too bad in the south.
01:06 Into the evening time, we are watching an area of heavy rain pushing up from southern
01:10 parts. This could bring some hefty downpours to central southern England, transferring
01:14 into Wales. At the same time, some more organised rain moving in from the North Sea to affect
01:19 eastern parts of England. Cloudier skies for Northern Ireland and some low cloud, mist
01:24 and murk for Scotland too. Clearer skies across the west. For most temperatures, generally
01:29 holding up 6 to 8 Celsius to take us into Monday. A cloudy wet start across parts of
01:35 eastern England, this transferring slowly westward through the day into parts of Northern
01:39 Ireland. Brighter skies across southern parts of the UK but into the afternoon we could
01:45 see some heavy thundery showers developing. Once again, Scotland staying largely dry across
01:50 the central belt into north western parts with the best of the sunshine through the
01:54 day, some rain reaching the borders. But quite a brisk north easterly breeze coming off the
01:59 North Sea, it will make it feel quite chilly under this cloud and rain, 7 or 8 Celsius.
02:04 Either side of this in the sunshine, temperatures largely getting towards the mid teens.
02:10 As we move through into the evening time, any heavy showers and thunderstorms across
02:13 central southern areas will start to ease away. Further rain though, slowly pushing
02:18 its way north westwards as we move through into the evening and early hours. And as I
02:23 said, staying fairly unsettled for the week ahead. So if you'd like more information on
02:28 the weather where you are for the next few days, you can follow us on our social media
02:31 channels. See you again soon.
