Hungarian Rally Crash Leaves Four Spectators Dead and Too Others Injured with One Child Hospitalized

Four people have died, and at least eight more injured, when a rally car drove into spectators in northern Hungary on Sunday, authorities said.
The incident occurred between the Hungarian towns of Labatlan and Bajot, around 60km north of the country's capital Budapest.
In a statement, police said they did not yet know the reason for the crash of the car which was competing in the Esztergom-Nyerges rally.
Police said the vehicle drifted off-road and into spectators standing behind a barrier, causing organizers to halt the race.
Footage showed the car skidding off the road before colliding with the crowd, and causing a cloud of dust after impact.
Officials and other spectators quickly ran to the scene, before emergency services arrived to help cope with the number of injured spectators.
Eight ambulances and four rescue helicopters arrived at the scene, the emergency services told the Hungarian news site Index.
Index. hu reported that in addition to the death toll, one child was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, and another person was seriously injured.
Six more people suffered lighter injuries as a result of the crash.
The police statement said: 'A fatal mass accident occurred between Labatlan and Bajot in the early afternoon of March 24.
'According to the data so far, a vehicle participating in a rally race drifted off the road for an unknown reason and drove into the spectators.
'According to the current information, four people were killed and seven were injured. The circumstances are being clarified.'
