The Northumberland Tourism Fair took place in Alnwick for another successful event that helps businesses, services and tourist attractions set up for summer.

00:02 - Halfway through the day today

00:05 here at Northumberland Tourism Fair 2024.

00:08 I've just been around speaking to a few

00:10 of the great exhibitors we've got here

00:11 and it's great feedback so far.

00:13 And we've had a really good turnout.

00:15 It's great to see the local business community thriving.

00:17 So last year, the event had had a four year break

00:20 because of COVID.

00:21 So this is the second year back after that.

00:23 And we've had a really, really good turnout this year.

00:25 And we have more than 400 tickets that were booked to come.

00:27 Obviously we don't know yet how many have came on the day,

00:29 but it's certainly been a busy morning.

00:31 So all positive so far.

00:32 - Yeah, we've had a really good day today.

00:44 It's been really positive.

00:45 And there's been so many people visit our stall

00:47 that have maybe never been to the zoo before

00:48 or they haven't been for quite a long time.

00:50 And we've expanded so much and developed so much

00:52 in the last couple of years that it's really exciting

00:54 that so many people have seen us today

00:56 and want to come and visit.

00:57 - Amazing having this in March,

00:59 just before the start of the season.

01:01 Everybody that owns cottages and B&Bs are around

01:04 to come and visit all these local producers.

01:07 We're one of them and it does pay off.

01:10 It does the world a good support local

01:12 and looking forward to the next few weeks

01:14 with the start of the summer season.

01:17 Looks like the cottages are getting busy and all booked up.

01:19 So ready to go.

01:21 - It's great.

01:22 It's a perfect way to kind of get your name out

01:24 and meet loads of local other people

01:27 who are small businesses or maybe have B&Bs, small shops.

01:32 It is really kind of essential.

01:34 You can see how busy it is.

01:35 It's been crazy busy today.

01:37 There's so many people and everybody's really interested

01:40 and nice and friendly.

01:41 And it's great 'cause you know

01:42 you're getting the personal touch.
