00:00 Welcome, Justice. Can you please clarify what does exactly the bill say?
00:08 So this is a bill that has been going through the Italian parliamentary system for around two years now.
00:17 And it is a bill that not just prescribes free jail time for anybody that is found guilty of engaging in any act that comes under what is described as improper human values.
00:36 So anything that is called to be gay, lesbian, or anything that looks like that, you could find yourself being a victim of this law.
00:49 It is not just people who are arrested or caught practicing any act deemed to be LGBTQ activity.
00:58 It is also people who are seen to be promoting or engaging in any activity that sort of promotes LGBTQ activities or rights or information around LGBTQ in Ghana.
01:12 You could find yourself at the wrong side of this law.
01:18 So Justice, do we know exactly when this bill will get into effect?
01:25 The President, this bill, now that it has gone through Parliament and received its approval, will go to the desk of the President.
01:32 The President is required to either accept to it at which point it then becomes law or decide not to sign it.
01:42 If he decides not to sign it, he is required to publicly give reason for not signing it.
01:49 With the pressure that has come with the passage of this bill, it is difficult to see what the position of the President will be from today.
02:00 Just his bite.
