00:00 The things that the actors have brought to these roles is just amazing.
00:04 And I, as the person who created these characters and who see them in my head,
00:09 think that they've done an exceptional job.
00:11 What is happening? Are you writing a book about me?
00:13 No, I'm just asking questions, trying to get to know you.
00:15 The books are the books and they're amazing, and the series is the series.
00:18 They're separate. Even me casting me as Will Trent is different.
00:22 You know, there's something so thoughtful and watchful about that character.
00:25 You have to find somebody who you want to watch think.
00:28 And that quality is really hard to find.
00:31 You know, Ramon is just right there with Will's personality.
00:35 The little smile he has that says,
00:38 "Okay, he's saying one thing, but he's thinking the other,
00:40 and he's going to catch this bad person."
00:43 He's cleaning something up, which means he's making mistakes,
00:46 which means I'm going to catch him.
00:47 Ramon and I go way back, and that really helps to have all of that history already there
00:54 when you're playing characters who have such a history.
00:57 Oh! There we go!
01:01 This is going to take all night, ladies. He's wearing the French cuffs.
01:05 Don't worry. This is stage 120.
01:07 We've jumped around on all the books.
01:08 It was kind of cool to see that evolution of fans of the books go,
01:11 "Wait a minute," and then go, "Oh, I like it. I like what they're doing with it."
01:15 (upbeat music)
01:18 (upbeat music)
