L’Œil du coach #80 : “Ce n’est pas la fin du revers à une main”

Patrick Mouratoglou mise sur Stefanos Tsitsipas et Grigor Dimitrov pour ramener le revers à une main dans le Top 10 de l’ATP.  Après la chute du Grec dans le classement cette semaine, aucun des dix meilleurs joueurs du monde ne possède le revers à une main dans son arsenal, une première dans l’histoire du tennis. Mais l’entraîneur estime français qu’il n’y a pas lieu de s’inquiéter.  “Je pense que Grigor peut revenir dans le top 10, il en est très proche”, déclare Mouratoglou dans le dernier épisode de l’émission l’Œil du coach.  “Stefanos Tsitsipas est sorti du top 10 pour la première fois depuis cinq ans, mais il va revenir, j’en suis sûr.”  Mouratoglou ajoute que le fait d’avoir un revers à une main peut rendre plus difficile l’accession au sommet du tennis, parce qu’il est plus difficile de retourner et de contre-attaquer dans un tennis actuel qui s’appuie souvent sur de gros services et sur la vitesse depuis la ligne de fond de court.  C’est peut-être plus difficile, mais il s’empresse d’ajouter que ce n’est pas impossible, rappelant les succès de Roger Federer et Stan Wawrinka ces dernières années.  “Je suis sûr qu’il y aura ici et là de grands champions avec des revers à une main”, affirme-t-il.
