00:00 Tragic news has emerged from the heart of the ongoing farmer protests at the Khanaodi
00:07 border.
00:08 The Haryana Youth Congress has raised serious allegations against the Haryana Police, claiming
00:13 that a 21-year-old farmer from Punjab lost his life due to police action against peaceful
00:19 protests.
00:20 However, the Haryana Police is vehemently denying these allegations, dismissing them
00:26 as mere rumours.
00:28 The deceased has been identified as Shubkaran Singh, a young man aged between 21 and 22
00:34 from Ballo village in Bhatinda district from Punjab.
00:38 The official handle of the Youth Congress expressed their grief on social media, stating
00:42 that Shubkaran tragically lost his life due to police action against peaceful farmer protests
00:48 at the Khanaodi border.
00:49 The Youth Congress demands justice for Shubkaran and calls for an immediate, peaceful resolution
00:55 to the ongoing protests.
00:57 In a social media post, they expressed their concern, saying, "This violence against our
01:02 youth and farmers must end."
01:05 However, countering these claims, the Haryana Police also on social media insisted that
01:11 according to the information they have received, no farmer has died today.
01:15 The police categorically label the reports as rumours and provide different information
01:19 about two policemen and one protester being injured at the Datta Singh Khanaodi border,
01:24 according to the complexity of the situation.
01:27 Sukhpal Singh Khaira, the MLA from Bholat and chairman of All India Kisan Congress,
01:32 alleged that Shubkaran's death was a result of Haryana Police's intrusion.
01:36 He expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased and criticised the Haryana
01:41 Police for their actions.
01:43 Khaira also called for Bhagwant Mann, accusing him of being a mute spectator of the intrusion
01:48 by Haryana Police into Punjab territory.
01:51 The incident unfolded on Wednesday when Haryana Police fired tear gas shells to disperse farmers
01:57 from Punjab at Shambhu and Khanaodi border points.
02:01 This comes just two days after the fourth round of talks between the farmers and the
02:05 government failed to reach a resolution over key demands, including a legal guarantee for
02:10 minimum support price or MSP for crops and farm debt waiver.
02:15 "We are very saddened to inform all the farmers and people of the country that a 22-23 year
02:24 old farmer, Shubkaran Singh, who was from Bithinda district, was killed by Haryana Police
02:30 at Khanaodi border in Punjab.
02:33 He was firing tear gas shells and rubber bullets when he was sitting peacefully at Shambhu
02:44 and Khanaodi border since February 13.
02:46 But our country's government, our Prime Minister, Mr. Modi, is sitting completely silent.
02:51 And on the contrary, they are barricading him, creating a separate border and stopping
02:56 the farmers from coming to Delhi.
02:58 This is a very bad thing.
03:00 And before this, Haryana Police entered the territory of Punjab and injured our 200-250
03:07 farmers very badly through drones.
03:09 They have been badly injured.
03:11 They have medical reports, but no action is being taken.
03:15 And what are they asking for?
03:17 They are asking for the law of MSP for the farmer and the farmer's labor.
03:22 They are not saying anything that will cause any kind of tension or disruption.
03:27 And in the last year and a half, our farmers told us in Delhi that they are absolutely non-violent.
03:37 Now who is doing violence?
03:39 The Haryana Police.
03:41 The atrocities committed against our farmers from there.
03:43 Today, the young man who died, we demand that the Prime Minister should himself interfere.
03:49 A case of 302 should be filed against the guilty police officers.
03:53 A case should be filed against the guilty police officers who have injured 200-250 farmers.
04:00 And they should allocate some place for the farmers in Delhi peacefully.
04:04 They will sit there and say what they want.
04:06 And the MSP which was promised by the BJP as a legal guarantee last time,
04:11 and the loan they are talking about,
04:13 on one hand, you are forgiving the corporate loan of 15 lakh crores,
04:17 but no one has heard about the loan of the families of millions of farmers.
04:23 Remember that these farmers, their own children,
04:26 fight and die on the borders against China and Pakistan.
04:31 I have never seen a BJP leader fighting for this country and having any martyrdom.
04:37 I hope that the Prime Minister himself will stand up this time and talk to our farmers.
04:43 Because our farmers, as I am saying,
04:45 have been sitting on the roads for the past 7 days in this weather,
04:50 and are protesting to fulfill their legitimate demands.
04:57 If you do such atrocities against them,
04:59 then understand that you are doing atrocities against God and humanity.
05:04 Thank you.
