00:00 The Greens are proposing to reduce the price of registration for concession holders.

00:05 So we want to halve the price that they're paying at the moment.

00:08 Concession holders do receive a reduction in price of between 14 to 20 per cent,

00:13 but we want to bring that down and triple that reduction in price.

00:17 That would cost about $13 million a year on our costings, estimated to be that much.

00:22 That would be funded through priorities really,

00:25 because at the moment the government are paying $30 million a year to the racing industry

00:31 and we think that we can prioritise the people of Tasmania,

00:34 put their needs first and find the money for this.

00:37 It's really quite a reasonable measure and affordable.

00:40 It's over $500 a year, that's quite a significant amount to come up with.

00:45 Managing a household with two girls at home, rent, food, basics,

00:53 and coming up with that as well every year is quite a significant challenge.
