Villagers concerned development plans for Bolney in the heart of Sussex

Harry Hunt explains why residents are protesting the plan for approximately 200 new homes

00:00 Hi, I'm Harry Hunt. I'm a resident of Bolney, a village in mid-Sussex, and myself and the

00:07 residents group known as the Bolney Action Group are currently fighting plans for a large-scale

00:12 development in the fields adjacent to the village of 200 houses, which we think is disproportionate

00:19 and unsustainable and possibly even dangerous. There is poor infrastructure in Bolney, there

00:26 are no amenities, and 200 houses could mean at least 300 new cars in the village, driving

00:35 through small country lanes which could prove a danger to children, dog walkers, horses.

00:43 And this development has received a huge number of objections, and we're now in the second

00:50 round of consultation, which ends on February 23rd, when we're encouraging all residents

00:56 to oppose this new development.
