00:35 And Hartevangelista and her husband, Senator Chis Escudero, renew their wedding vows in
00:40 Balisin.
00:43 The consortium led by San Miguel wins the contract to rehabilitate the country's main
00:47 international gateway, the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, or NIIA.
00:52 Under the terms of the deal, San Miguel's group, SMC-SAP, and the company consortium
00:57 will serve as the operator of NIIA for the next 15 years, with a possible 10-year extension.
01:03 It is required to rehabilitate, operate, optimize, and maintain the airport, which covers improvements
01:09 to its runways, port terminals, and other facilities.
01:13 The consortium will also be sharing 82.16% of its gross revenue to the government, on
01:18 top of an upfront payment of Php30 billion and a fixed annual payment of Php2 billion.
01:24 But critics ask, will San Miguel be able to operate NIIA alongside its Bulacan airport
01:29 profitably, especially with the generous revenue-sharing terms it offered?
01:34 In 2020, Ramon Ang's conglomerate bagged the franchise for the new Manila International
01:38 Airport in Bulacan.
01:41 The Supreme Court grants protective writs filed by environmental activists Jonila Castro
01:47 and Jed Tamano, who were allegedly abducted by the military last year.
01:51 On Thursday, February 15, the Supreme Court grants the activists the writs of amparo and
01:56 habeas data and a temporary protection order.
01:59 A writ of amparo is usually a protection order in the form of a restraining order.
02:04 The writ of habeas data also compels the government to destroy information that could cause harm.
02:10 The SC also issues the temporary protection order as an interim relief against the authorities
02:15 who are respondents in the case.
02:18 Preventing them from entering within a radius of one kilometer from the petitioners and
02:22 their families.
02:23 Castro and Tamano went busy in Bataan last September, then appeared in a government-organized
02:28 press conference where they revealed they were abducted by the military.
02:34 Urgent calls to free film director Jade Castro make the rounds on social media as friends,
02:40 loved ones, colleagues and fans call for his release after being arrested without a warrant
02:45 on February 1.
02:47 Castro and his friends are still detained after being arrested in Catanauan, Quezon
02:51 for alleged arson in connection with the burning of a modern jeepney.
02:55 Castro and his friends denied the charges and were seen in CCTV footage to be physically
03:00 present in another town of Mulanay when the fire took place.
03:04 Notable figures and colleagues continue to rally online for Castro's immediate release,
03:09 including "Triangle of Sadness" actress Dolly DeLeon.
03:12 On Tuesday, February 13, Senate Deputy Minority Leader Risa Ontiveros files a Senate resolution,
03:19 urging the Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs to conduct a probe into
03:23 the warrantless arrest, slamming the police for its practice of "arrest now, explain
03:28 later."
03:29 Greece's parliament approves a bill allowing same-sex civil marriage on Thursday, February
03:36 15, giving same-sex couples the right to wed and adopt children.
03:41 Greece is one of the first Orthodox Christian countries to allow such unions.
03:46 This comes after decades of campaigning by the LGBT community for marriage equality in
03:51 the socially conservative country.
03:54 Although members of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis' center-right New Democracy Party
03:58 abstained or voted against the bill, it gained enough support from the leftist opposition
04:04 in a rare show of cross-party unity.
04:07 The bill was approved by 176 lawmakers in the 300-seat parliament.
04:12 But the law doesn't overturn obstacles for LGBT couples in using assisted reproduction
04:17 methods.
04:18 Surrogate pregnancies are still not extended to LGBT individuals, but the bill recognizes
04:23 children already born through that method abroad.
04:29 Harte Vangelista and Chiz Escudero renewed their vows on Thursday, February 15, on Balisin
04:35 Island.
04:36 In photos shared on social media, Harte is seen wearing an Elie Saab Couture gown, with
04:41 intricate beading and a veil she requested herself.
04:44 The actress also shares a second gown made by fashion designer Michael Leyva.
04:50 Harte and Chiz's family and friends celebrate the couple for their ninth wedding anniversary
04:54 and Harte's 39th birthday.
04:56 The couple tied the knot back in 2015, also in Balisin Island.
