00:00 Sportscaster Rick Harrell with your Maxwell Minute brought to you by the Maxwell Football
00:07 Club.
00:08 Well, hail to Dartmouth, I guess.
00:10 Ivy League is not a revenue-producing program like any of the Ivies, clearly, but a revenue-producing,
00:18 exciting, precedent-generating program.
00:22 As the National Labor Relations Board says, the basketball team could unionize for purposes
00:28 of unions, playing conditions, training, etc.
00:32 They are unions, they are professional athletes.
00:35 This ruling came on the heels of Northwestern University's players trying it on the football
00:40 side years ago, but the important distinction, what happened in the meantime?
00:45 NIL, unanimous Supreme Court decision, pay the players, and now the first one of these
00:50 and many more, potentially, although NIL may have taken the wind out of the sails here
00:55 because many of the athletes are getting enough money and justifying their commercial exploits
01:01 regardless of unionizing.
