00:07 We went down to the Panasonic European Configuration and Service Centre to check out the Toughbook

00:12 40, one of the most robust and customisable laptops in the world.

00:17 And we broke it.

00:19 Sorry.

00:21 The Toughbook 40 is a rugged laptop designed to take hard bumps, operate in ridiculous

00:26 temperatures and withstand the toughest environments.

00:30 It runs on the latest Intel 11th Gen CPU, has built-in 5G connectivity and a touchscreen

00:37 that can automatically detect rain or if you're wearing gloves and switch its mode to work

00:42 with both.

00:43 Its modular design helps to make it easy to use and future-proof and we even got our hands

00:47 dirty swapping out some components like this fingerprint scanner and we did all of that

00:52 with zero technical know-how.

00:54 And then, after all of that, we broke it.

00:57 By dropping it from a height almost double its recommended limit, not once, but twice.

01:03 The unit that we dropped was still usable with a few dents and scratches and everything

01:06 internal was working totally fine.

01:09 The screen was damaged though, but impressively, within 25 minutes, the unit that we dropped

01:13 was back to full working order as the technicians on location were easily able to swap out the

01:18 screen for a new one with very little hassle.

01:21 The Toughbook 40 is a very specialist machine and it isn't built for consumers, but it was

01:26 super interesting to see how the facilities function and the leaps that are being made

01:30 in the B2B sector to make laptops stronger and more versatile.

01:35 No laptop should be able to survive operating at ridiculous temperatures, under crazy vibrations

01:40 or a 15ft drop onto concrete, but this one can.
