Local residents and business owners concerned at road closure in Barnham

00:00 My name is Jonathan Wright. I'm a local resident and I'm here on the Barnum Road

00:06 standing in front of two sets of roadworks which have now closed the road

00:11 here this week. This is the second time our main road has been shut in the last

00:18 two months. The council seems to not understand that

00:24 this is causing a great deal of hardship to local residents. Not only local

00:32 businesses who are suffering loss but also the residents are very concerned

00:38 about emergency services that cannot get through when these roadworks are set up.

00:44 There are a number of roads either blocked off completely or that have roadworks which are

00:53 connecting the various developments in the area.

00:58 The local council seem to be extremely reluctant to actually support local

01:07 residents and be concerned about what is happening.
